How to make Homemade Celery Salt

How to make Celery Salt

Today as I was looking to make a Bloody Mary I noticed that we were out of celery salt. Instead of going to the store, I decided that I would make some for myself. I rustled up some Celery seed and found some ancient sea salt that I had left over from Woofstock I used the following recipe:
1 Part Celery Seed
2 Parts Salt (Your choice of salt, I usually use kosher but for this one I used Ancient Kosher Sea Salt.

Use this ratio to make as much or as little as you want.
I put both parts in the micro processor that came with my stick blender, but you can use a food processor, spice/coffee grinder or just a mortar and pestle. I put it in a re-purposed jam jar but you can used just about anything.
Guess what? It worked and was perfect in the Bloody Mary mix that I made. Celery Salt also goes well in macaroni salad, potato salad or on Corn on the Cob. So next time you are out of Celery Salt don't go the the store, go to your pantry and make some for yourself.
